Syrian refugee crisis

5 things you can do to help with the Syrian refugee crisis

We understand that our residents are keen to do all they can to help refugees fleeing from conflict. Here are 5 things you could do to help.

1. Make a donation

Visit GOV.UK for contact details of recognised charities working to help refugees.

2. Find out what Buckinghamshire is doing

Our Leader, Martin Tett spoke to Victoria Derbyshire about how Buckinghamshire can play a role in this crisis.

3. Donate your old clothes to be reused

The Red Cross have launched #ShopDrop for Refugee Crisis, where they’ll accept quality clothing, books and unwanted gifts.

4. Become a volunteer

Contact Community Impact Bucks to ask what volunteering opportunities they have to help refugees within Buckinghamshire.

 5. Foster a child

If you are interested in fostering a child or would like to attend our fostering information session please contact our fostering team on 0800 1601900 or firststep@buckscc.gov.uk.

You can call the Red Cross’s dedicated phone line on 0800 107 8727 if you’d like to discuss what you can do to help. More information is available from the Home Office portal for the Syrian Refugee programme.
