Exploring the countryside

Buckinghamshire has:

  • 2073 miles of rights of way
  • 106 acres of Open Access Land
  • 2903 acres of Common Land

Many of our routes are set in historic landscapes eg Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Bernwood Ancient Hunting Forest. The landscape has much to offer everyone.

The network has opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding, carriage driving and off-roading:

  • Instructions for some of the best routes, whether you are looking for a short stroll or a lengthy hike. See related pages below.
  • Country parks and picnic sites, many with convenient car parks and links to public transport.
  • Walking for health, visit the Simply Walk page or call 01494 475367.
